Validation Workshop on Violence Against Women and Girls Study

The National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) in collaboration with United Nations
Development Fund (UNDP) has initiated the national level Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) study to generate baseline data and information on the issue to ensure an evidence-based approach to address VAWG issues. The VAWG study, as a mounting concern as well as need for baseline data and information on the Prevalence of VAW in the country, mainly focuses on the prevalence of VAWG including factors and risk factors for VAWG.
The Validation Meeting is being conducted to finalize the report and develop recommendations
for the study from 12 to 13 December 2018 in Phuntsholing. The participants include
representatives from relevant sectors including steering committee members, core working group
members, UN agencies and Gender Focal Points from central agencies.
