Basic Gender Training to key Climate Sectors
The National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC) conducted a 4 day Gender Training from 13-16 April 2021. The training was attended by gender focal points (GFPs) and officials from the agriculture, waste and energy sectors. The main aim of the training was to equip members of these key climate sectors on basic gender knowledge and techniques to mainstream gender into their respective plans and programs. This training was conducted by NCWC’s Gender Expert Group (GEG) members. The GEG is a pool of experts who provide technical backstopping on gender related aspects to NCWC.
A consultation workshop to review the Gender Toolkit in Agriculture, Waste and Energy sectors was also conducted with the same participants on 12 April 2021.
These activities are implemented through the ‘Gender Responsive Nationally Determined Contributions implementation in Bhutan’ Project. The project, which is geared towards gender responsive climate actions, is supported by UNDP Bhutan through financial assistance from the European Union, the Government of Spain and the Government of Germany
